My Dying Bride

I still love this band! Sticking with something I love on Friday I thought I should bring some music into the mix. My Dying Bride is a doom metal band hailing from England. This year they celebrate 20 years together with a new commemorative CD collection of some old tunes reworked and a beautiful book full of color photos of the band. I can't wait to give this a listen. Here are some images of the band and at the end I'll put up a video so you can check them out for yourself.

They also have a hot female bass player!

Here is Aaron, one of my favorite artists of all time! He is the lead singer.

Here is their most current video:

New Nails & Rings

A few weeks ago I posted some pictures of my pink glitter Sally Hansen nail stickers. They stayed on for almost two weeks before I took them off. Last night I applied some really fun leopard print decals. Check it out.

I was really happy with the way they turned out. Here are a few more pictures with me wearing some rings I made.

This is what I call a fist full of color!
POW!

More for Mom's

I thought I'd make this a two parter since I have a lot of Mom's in my life. Most of my friends are Mom's and they do a fabulous job. It's been pretty wonderful watching my best friend Kristi raising her two girls and finding her way as a new Mom. Then I have my friend Kathi, who has two amazing older kids. She blows me away! She home schools her kids, blogs, works, and cooks for her family pretty much everyday. Kathi I don't know how you do it, but you amaze me!!! I also have another Mom in my life that is pretty fabulous, her name is Mary Ann. Mary Ann is raising a son and daughter. Her son was born premature, and required a lot of extra care as an infant. She has poured her soul into that boy and I am happy to report he is big and beautiful now.

Here are some gift ideas for your friends that are Mom's on Mother's Day.

I would love to get this for Kristi...she knows why. You can find it at Giddy Spinster.

I can just see Kristi wearing this as she whips up some French Dips. I found this at Urban Vintage.

Now for my dear friend Kathi, she is a bit more difficult since she never seems to want anything (and Denzel is unavailable). I picked this ring for it's bright color, I think she might dig it. Found at Purple Cactus Studios.

Ok this next one is more of a joke as I know she would never wear, but wow aren't they cool?!?! I found these at a shop called Kioskofoli

Next is my lil Mary Ann. I think this would look great in her kitchen. I found it at Bragging Bags.

She would look gorgeous in this. Found at My Universe, My Dress World.

Mom's

This morning feels strange. I listened to Chris Issac's Wicked Game....that must be it. Typical Spring here in Oregon. The ground is wet as it rained most of the night, everything is bright, green and refreshed. Coffee is brewing, heater still cranked and Peetee sitting next to me on the sofa watching me type, Chris still in bed. We all have our morning routines :)

Since next month is Mother's Day I thought I should post some things perfect for the mother in your life. Mom's are important and almost always under appreciated. It takes a grown up heart to realize all the sacrifices Mom's make for us. I love mine and I also loves all the Mom's in my life. Here's to you ladies!

This one is perfect for my Mom who loves pottery. Check out the store Neal Pottery

This one is perfect for my mother-in-law Patrice, she could put her Kindle in it. Found at the Yummi Shop

This is for my baby sister who loves the BLING. It can be found at Punk Infanta Creations.

I think I will continue this post tomorrow and add some more Mom's I love!!!

Easter and Sunshine

What do these two things have in common? Nothing apparently...the sun barely made an appearance on Sunday. Here is my egg tree.

However, Saturday was a different story and when the sun came out so did we.

Another Artist I love! Junko Mizuno

Continuing what I started last Friday....this time someone I love! Junko Mizuno is a Japanese artist known for her cute yet creepy style. I guess we would call it gothic kawaii. Gothic Kawaii is a mixture of super cute and a lil horror mixed in. Think of Power Puff girls gone goth. She is 37 years old and currently lives in Japan. I have two tattoos from her illustrated work called Hell Babies. I hope you enjoy checking out some of my favorites from her.

Here is her latest work called Magical Serpent Girl. She will have 100 signed prints available for purchase here and all proceeds go to help Japan.

This cute lil witch I have tattooed on my arm.

I love all the images in this book. For me, this book is where my love for her work started. I hope someday to catch one of her exhibits and tell her how much I adore her.

People I dig

I thought it might be time to share some of my favorite artists with you. This week it will be Tara McPherson.
I did pick this picture because she is representing SLAYER!!!

She was born in 1976 and is a San Francisoco based artist. When she was in college she did some work of the TV show Futurama. She just launched a new brand called Cotton Candy Machine and a store in NYC. She has done album covers, concert posters and even made some adorable toys. My favorite toy she has made is my Hello Kitty.

Take some time and check out her shop and all her goodies. Cotton Candy Machine

Things I want

I am a consumer and a good one at that. I am always on the lookout for unique and colorful pieces to add to my wardrobe. Here are a few items I just love and wish I could afford to call them my very own.

These babies are about $190...yikes...but I love them!!!!

Another cute pair at $160. Both of these are available at Irregular Choice.

Ok one last shoe from Irregular Choice.

Beautiful dress $99 at Mod Cloth.

Ok so this one doesn't really fit with the post, but how precious is she?
Check her out at The Doll and the Pea.

Cheese and Ice Cream

Hey everybody. I hope your weekend was as fun as mine was. Yesterday Chris and I went out to Tillamook Cheese Factory to meet his folks and our niece and nephew visiting form Ohio. Although I eat plenty of Tillamook cheese and Ice Cream, this was first time visiting the factory. We had a blast! I wanted to steal this classic VW bus!

Yes, my eyes are close because a teenager was driving.

Next we checked out the factory floor from behind glass. Since it was a Sunday I think the plant was not operating at full capacity, but we still got the idea.

Wow all this watching people work has made me hungry. Can someone say 38 FLAVORS!!!!

Meet the kids; Me and Haylen.

Jack...or as he told me to call him, BABY BEAR :)

After eating ice cream and hanging out for a while we parted ways :( Chris and I and Peetee headed out to see a lighthouse.

It's gotta be around here somewhere?
Wow Oregon coast is beautiful, if it were only warm.

Peetee goes a little batty for all the smells in the forest.

Ah here is is....Cape Meares Lighthouse

We also saw the Octopus Tree.

It was a really strange looking tree.

And they lived happily ever after!
