Backyard Finished

Wow am I a happy camper!  I can't believe it but after only 6 days of construction our yard is done.  Green Thumb Landscaping did an amazing job!  It poured three of the days they were out there and they never slowed down.  I would totally use them again.  Each and every plant in the yard has a drip on them so we are free to travel the world, but with this yard I'm happy not to. Check it out.

We have a total of 1300 square ft. of grass, run Peetee run.
We can't go on the grass for about 2 weeks, after that I plan on spending a lot of time right in the middle of that patch!

These next three shots are the sides of the house.

I am very pleased with myself and the yard, I even had time to do my nails, and finish a necklace:)

My feet want these

One of the things I miss most about warm weather are the wide range of shoes I can wear. When I lived in San Diego I sported open toe shoes almost year round. I remember being a teen and thinking how dumb it was I had to wear shoes at all, what was I thinking. Shoes, just like anything else you put on, can say a lot about you. Here are some shoes I simply LOVE!!!

A nude wedge is a must have this season. I bought a pair similar to this and I can't wait to pair them with my new sun dresses. This shoe says, "I am paying attention to what's hot this season!"

These say, "I'll be going to Maui in September."

These say, "Keep dreaming Krista at $675 you will never be able to afford me."

One of my favorite designers of shoes is Vivienne Westwood. I own nothing by her but hope to some day.

These are the pair I have been lusting after!

Here she is, hmmmmmm, me in 30 more years?

And totally unrelated to her ^ I just bought this pair, straight from the factory in Korea....pray they fit!!!!

I love me some shoes!!!

Kitchen Kitsch

I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, whether it's eating or cooking, I like to hang out in there. My kitchen has white cabinets and bright lime green walls. I pretty much have every color in the rainbow in there. Here are some sweet treats that I could totally see in my cute kitchen!

So 1970's! From Caught my Eye candy

These are just killer! Check out this shop Good for our Neighborhoods. They carry a ton of different bottles made into drinking glasses.

These would be great this summer. From Old Mrs. Daisy.

I could see these on my fridge. These are available at Faery Dust Art.

It finally happened. I bought a one piece, but it is SUPER CUTE!!!!!!!!!!
$20 at Old Navy, SCORE!

Backyard Day One

Yesterday was the day they began work on the backyard. Three guys, some heavy equipment and no rain made for a pretty productive day. I plan on taking pictures each day they finish up so we can watch the transformation together. This morning as I looked out into the bare yard, morning coffee in hand, I noticed 4 squirrels, 2 blue birds, a few crows and a bunch a little baby birds, I swear they are all thinking what the f*** happened to our house. Sorry guys I'm taking back my yard. Everything green you see in the before pictures are weeds (can you imagine how tall they are by the end of summer? Not this year:)

Can you see Zoe back there. She is a fan of tall grass :)

Now this is what it looked like yesterday.

I moved these from the front yard a few years back and they will be used to make nice walkway.

Here is the heavy equipment

Wow this is an ugly post. I can't end it like this. Here is a sweet flower basket I look forward to getting every year.

Pink and blue the color of cotton candy

Do you have favorite color combinations? I have quite a few. When I was in high school my entire wardrobe was black and red, I thought I would never change.  Thanks goodness I did and I have really been digging pink and blue lately.  Here are some examples that make me think of cotton candy.

I bought this beauty to make cup cakes in!
Purchased from Dots Diner

I have yet to buy baked goods off etsy, but this dessert bowl from Jam's Bake Shop is adorable.

Such sweet soft feather ear rings made by Peace Frog.

This is made by Candy Owl and it reminds me of light bulbs and bubble gum.

Remember friendship bracelets? This is made by Quiet Mischief & Co

This ring looks good enough to eat. I love Athinalabella's shop

I bet these smell good. Made by Boardwalk Candles and Quilts.

Farmers Market and my 50mm lens

I've had my Olympus E-520 for a little over a year now and I still am figuring out how to use it. Taking pictures is a lot of fun. I have always enjoyed being able to reflect on the past through pictures. My step dad Jim is an amazing photograph so I grew up with photography in our home. I recently purchased a macro 50mm lens for my camera for close up shots. Here are some favorites of my goodies from Farmer's market.

They always have the most beautiful bouquets. I would fill the house year round but Chris is a little bothered by the pollen. This one is dried so it's not as potent.

What trip would be complete without something yummy and green. These vegetables make me hot, not really but they are beautiful.

Finally I love these Aussie beef and stout meat pie's. Farmer's Market, oh how I have missed you.
